Install a Blender extension (4.2 LTS and newer)
From Blender 4.2 the add-on system was replaced by extensions. Our products ship as extensions with a manifest, so they install and update from inside Blender.
Requirements
- Blender 4.2 LTS or newer, 64-bit
- Windows, macOS (Intel or Apple silicon) or Linux
- No administrator rights needed
Steps
- Download the
.zipfrom your account. Do not unzip it. - In Blender, open Edit → Preferences → Get Extensions.
- Click the arrow at the top right, then Install from Disk….
- Pick the
.zip. The extension enables itself. - Paste your licence key in the extension preferences and press Activate.
Worth knowing
Legacy .zip add-ons installed through Add-ons → Install still work in 4.2+, but they do not auto-update. If you are upgrading from a pre-4.2 install, remove the old add-on first — running both at once causes duplicate menu entries.
If something goes wrong
The extension does not appear after installing
Check that the file is the original .zip. Some browsers unpack archives on download; a folder cannot be installed. Re-download and untick “open safe files after downloading” in your browser.
Activation fails on a machine with no internet
Use offline activation: the preferences panel writes a request file, you exchange it in your account for an activation file, and load that back. No outbound connection is needed afterwards.
