ArchiCAD 27 – 29
Install an Archicad add-on
Archicad add-ons are loaded through the Add-On Manager. Each licence is tied to one Archicad version, and upgrading Archicad needs a matching build.
Requirements
- Archicad 27, 28 or 29
- Windows (
.apx) or macOS (.bundle) - A build that matches your Archicad version exactly
Steps
- Download the build for your exact Archicad version.
- Unzip it somewhere permanent — the file is loaded from where it sits.
- In Archicad, open Options → Add-On Manager.
- Click Add and select the
.apxor.bundle. - Restart Archicad, then activate with your licence key.
Worth knowing
Graphisoft does not guarantee interface or binary compatibility between releases, so every Archicad version needs its own build. Your licence covers one Archicad version; upgrading to the next release is offered at 50% of the original price.
If something goes wrong
The add-on loads but every command is greyed out
That is the unlicensed state. Archicad loads the add-on but refuses its commands until a key is entered. Check the Add-On Manager list — a missing or expired licence shows there.
Archicad reports a duplicate add-on
Two copies of the same add-on cannot coexist, because they share an identifier. Remove the older entry from the Add-On Manager list before adding the new one.
